WIN ADDED VALUE FROM BIOMASS
Livestock farmers, farmers, operators of biogas plants, sewage treatment plants and composting plants — have, as of today, a severe problem: where to go with manure, digestate and screening residue from composting procedures, in ever larger quantities? Store it in silos and tanks or dump it on landfills? No way!
Since the slurry and sewage sludge regulation is tightened and, to make it worse, the state subsidies for biogas production is diminishing.
With 3R-Systems, businesses can kill two birds with one stone. One, drastic volume reduction of organic waste. Two, in doing so generate extra venues of income.
The engineers of the company have developed a thermal optimization process, using the biogenic residues and turning it into highly valuable biochar. – A process that promises lucrative, for waste management and forestry operations, too.
Enterprises investing in a plant for the production of biochar make an important contribution to achieving actual climate goals. Solely realizing the reduction of CO2 emissions, climate change can not be stopped.
Actually, carbonization is old hat. Charcole Burner have been making charcoal from wood residues for thousands of years, a technique that was used in antiquity for iron smelting and glass production. Over the years, new methods have been developed and the idea behind them has been further refined and improved. However, the applied thermo-chemical processes were used to extract energy from waste. 3R-Systems has standardized the thermo-chemical technology, converted it into a modular design and thus made it suitable for the industrial processing of a diversity of starting materials. Modified in such a way, carbonization serves the production (rather than consumption) of sustainable products.
3R-Systems relies on carbonization via thermolysis. Thermolysis is a chemical reaction in which a starting material is decomposed by heating into various different products. 3R-Systems uses this process to extract biochar from biomass in a rotary kiln at high temperatures of up to 650 ° C (1.200 ° F). A 3R-Systems thermolysis plant can be operated remotely, on site, where the biomass occurs/accumulates. For example, in a livestock farm or on the site of a sewage treatment plant or waste company … where large quantities of manure or sewage sludge need processing. Companies can use carbonization to reduce the volume of biomass down to 30%. This saves in storage and distribution costs.
Depending on the specifics of the starting material, it is possible to obtain and market a great variaty of highly valuable products from biochar. Made from wood-residue, the biochar is used as a dietary supplement for domestic and farm animals. Manure, digestate and sewage sludge are turned into potent soil-enhancement … 3R-Systems supports and advises its customers on the marketing and distribution of their biochar.
biochar IS BLACK GOLD
Carbon (CO2)removal from atmosphere unavoidable for 1.5 degree target
Without biochar it does not work
In the Paris Climate Agreement, 196 countries have set global warming target to (+)1.5 degree. This will make the world more and more dependent on technology, that deducts CO2 from the atmosphere.
This includes, too, the production of biochar and its embedding into the soil.
For solely reducing CO2 emissions, the ambitious climate goals are no longer achievable – as latest studies by the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC, Berlin), emphasize. The scientists demand a consistent expansion of negative emission technologies such as the carbonization of plants to reclaim CO2 in gigantic amounts from the atmosphere.
